2024 Hajj: Kwara Holds Enlightenment Programme, Prayer for Pilgrims on Sunday

Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board will on Sunday, April 28, hold an enlightenment programme and a special prayer for all its intending pilgrims for this year's Hajj, a statement said on Friday. The statement quoted the Executive Secretary of the Board Alhaji AbdulSalam Abdulkadir as saying that the prayer will be led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Solih and other Muslim scholars from within the state. The prayer and the enlightenment will be held within the premises of the pilgrims' board in Ilorin, urging all intending pilgrims to attend promptly, the statement added. Kwara Govt Begins Renovation of More Primary Healthcare Centers Across State

• Commends UNICEF, other development partners for support     The Kwara State Government has flagged off renovation works on five additional Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCs) in the state with a view to improving access to quality and affordable healthcare services. Held between Monday (April 22nd and Tuesday (April 23rd), the flag-off ceremony took the form of handing over project sites to various contractors at different locations for immediate actions. The affected facilities are Bode PHC (Baruten); Obbo Aiyegunle PHC (Ekiti); prototype Fufu PHC (Ilorin South); Ojagboro PHC (Ilorin East) and Balogun Afin PHC in Ilorin South local government area. Modified Monthly Sanitation Exercise Holds Saturday

This is to inform members of the public that the modified monthly sanitation exercise for this month will come up on Saturday, 27th April, 2024 starting from seven to nine o'clock (7:00 am to 9:00 am) in the morning. Residents of the State are hereby enjoined to fully participate in the exercise, by cleaning both residential and business environments.   Members of the public are to note that there will be vehicular and human movement across the state due to ongoing UTME Examination (JAMB) Waste Management trucks will be made available for waste collection and subsequent disposal of the same at the dump site of the metropolis. Kwara Gov announces Senator Oloriegbe as Ameerul-Hajj for 2024

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has appointed Senator Ibrahim Yahya Oloriegbe as the leader of the state’s contingent (Ameerul-Hajj) to 2024 Hajj in Saudi Arabia, according to a statement on Tuesday.  Kwara State has at least 3,102 pilgrims for this year’s Hajj — one of the highest in the country.  The statement said the choice of the senator is borne out of his experience and networks as a Muslim community leader.  The government believes that the senator will deploy his knowledge and understanding of the terrain to ensure improved coordination and efficiency for the exercise, according to the statement. Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) on Monday opened bids for execution of the 2021 FG/UBEC/SUBEB school intervention project. The bid opening for the year 2021 school project comes following a successful completion of the 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 categories.  Performing the bid opening in Ilorin, the Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi, said the present administration gives special attention to payment of counterpart funds, thereby making Kwara eligible to access FG/UBEC funds to improve infrastructure in public basic schools.  “Today is another milestone in the history of the state, as the state government opens bids for fresh projects in our basic schools. The Projects, which include the construction of two motorized solar powered boreholes with 40,000 liters steel tanks and reticulation to supply watering points, watering troughs for pasture, irrigation and communal use in the grazing reserve, and the repairs of three existing hand-pump boreholes with provision for watering troughs along stock route in the area.
