KWSG CHARGES NEWLY SWORN-IN NYSC MEMBERS ON SKILLS ACQUISITION

The Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has charged the newly sworn-in members of the National Youths Service Corps(NYSC) to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the country towards acquiring skills and talents towards national development.

Governor AbdulRazaq stated this during the swearing-in ceremony of the Batch 'A', Stream II Youths Corps members, at the NYSC Orientation Camp at Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area, where the Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Abiodun Adebara, who was represented by Justice Tauhid Salihu Umar administered the "NYSC Oath of Allegiance" to the corps members.

The Governor, who was represented by the Senior Adviser and Counselor, Alh. Saadu Salahu, welcomed the corps members to the State of Harmony and urged them to channel their skills, intellects and talents towards national development by being active and disciplined. 

He advised the corps members to present themselves as worthy ambassadors of their families by exhibiting the qualities of service and humility as enshrined in the motto of NYSC.

"You are to justify the confidence reposed in you as leaders of this great nation by making patriotism, discipline, honesty and hard work your watchwords throughout the duration of your stay in the State and thereafter", Governor AbdulRazaq noted.
The Commissioner, Ministry of Youths Development, and the Chairperson Kwara State NYSC Governing Board, Hon. Nafisat Musa Buge, expressed her gratitude to the Governor for his unwavering support to the NYSC scheme in Kwara State and admonished the corps members to offer selfless service all through the year and contribute significantly to the development of their host communities.

Speaking further, she commended the camp officials for their hard work and selfless sacrifice at ensuring the safety of the Corp members.

In his address, the State Coordinator for the NYSC, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua, commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his support to the NYSC in Kwara and appreciated the corps members for their eagerness to go through the mandatory youths service year, stating that various activities had been lined up for their entertainment and education, while also admonishing them to strictly comply with all the rules required.

"You are further enjoined to comport yourselves in a disciplined and orderly manner, as all forms of unruly behaviours would not be tolerated on camp either from you or camp officials", the Coordinator noted.

Mr. Onifade stated that a total number of 2,233 Corps members comprising 1,120 females and 1,113 males were sworn-in at the Yikpata camp. 

Also present at the event were the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Religion Alh. Danmaigoro Ibrahim, the representative of the Commissioner of Police, SP Adaba Abdulmuminu, representative of the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Divisional Officer of Lafiagi, CSC Salawu Saadu Amoo, representative of the Commander National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) Assistant Commander of Narcotics Olasoji Olusegun, the State Commandant of Immigration, represented by the Assistant Commander of Immigration Ola Aliu, Director Youths Alh. Abdulsalam Akeem, and staff of the NYSC.
