Kwara Celebrates Safe Motherhood Week

In commemoration of  year 2024 motherhood celebration, the Kwara State Government has again reiterated its commitment to the wellbeing of Mothers, to further appreciate women value, across the state. 

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Amina Ahmed El-Imam stated this in Ilorin today, during the Safe Motherhood Week celebration, held at Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH), Taiwo Road, Ilorin, the State Capital. 

The Commissioner commended the Mothers, for attending pre-natal care, emphasizing the importance of maternal health for a sustainable future. 

She appealed to mothers nation wide, to prioritize their health, emphasizing the significance of Kwara Care, an initiative of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, there by offering quality healthcare services, at affordable rates. 

She thereafter stressed the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding, for the wellbeing of both Mother and Child. 


In his remarks, the Chief Medical Director, KWASUTH, Dr. Bola Ahmed Abdulkadiri lauded the State Government for approving the upgrade of General Hospital Ilorin, to a University Teaching Hospital, an initiative that would further enhance healthcare services, within and outside the State Capital. 

The CMD therefore appalled to pregnant women in the state to enroll for both their post and anti natal, at certified government hospitals, enable them access quality health care services as and when due. 

Other stakeholders from health sector, including Deputy CMAC, KWASUTH, Dr. Idowu Ogunlaja and Director Public Health, Dr. Oluwatosin Fakayode, addressed issues of maternal mortality, emphasizing the importance of proactive healthcare practices and attendance at prenatal care to avoid eventualities.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
