The Kwara State Government has officially approved the academic calendar for the 2026/2027 academic session for all public and private primary and secondary schools across the state. The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, announced the approval on Wednesday at the Ministry's headquarters in Ilorin. According to the approved schedule, the 2026/2027 academic session will run across three terms, with resumption dates, midterm breaks, closing dates and holiday periods clearly outlined for schools across the state. Kwara’s advertisement agency enforces compliance in parts of Ilorin, cautions politicians against abuse of public facilities

Officials of Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA) on Wednesday removed campaign billboards belonging to Engr Kale Kawu, the Gubernatorial candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), for violation of advertising campaign rules, environmental protection standards, and destruction of public infrastructure.  Of the two political billboards affected, one is located at Adabata Junction, while the other is hung on the public water facility (motorized borehole) at Bata Shop, Agaka – both of which the agency considered abuse of public facilities. General Manager of the Agency, who led the taskforce, Mr. Toba Adeyeye, said they carried out the enforcement exercise following receipt of several complaints from the public. The Kwara State Government has conducted the bid opening exercise for the procurement of infrastructure works for the Agricultural Transformation Centres (ATCs) under the Kwara State Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) Project. The proposed ATCs, to be located in Olodan, Ifelodun LGA; Afon, Asa LGA; Gidan Magajiya, Baruten LGA; and Kinikini, Kaiama LGA, are designed to serve as aggregation and raw-material supply centres for the Agro-Industrial Hub (AIH) to be established in Malete, Moro LGA. The attention of the Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA) has been drawn to a trending video concerning its enforcement action on a billboard structure at the Geri Alimi Underpass. The Agency is concerned about the misleading narrative surrounding the exercise and wishes to clarify the issues.
