KWSG Constitutes 15-Man Inputs Distribution Committee

The Kwara State Government has set up a 15-Man Committee for farm inputs distribution to the real farmers in the state. Membership of the committee include the Commissioner for Agriculture, Mrs. Oloruntoyosi Thomas as Chairman; Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata (Member); Commissioner For Planning and Economic Development, Hon. KWSG Assures Citizens of Proper Investigations on Alleged Unprofessionalism at Cottage Hospital, Illofa

The Kwara State Government has taken a firm stance against any form of misconduct and unprofessionalism amongst health workers in the state, insisting on sanctions against erring health workers. The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-lmam made the assertion while speaking with the media on pressing issues in the health sector as she addressed the recent incident of alleged  misconduct among some health workers at Illofa.  It would be recalled that a few medical staff of the Iloffa Cottage Hospital have been accused of alleged unprofessionalism in the controversy over an improperly handled placenta, which has caused some concerns at the Iloffa Community. The case has since been under investigation by the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Ilorin.   The Commissioner disclosed that the State Ministry of Health has commenced its internal investigation into the matter and will ensure that justice is done at the end of both processes.  Dr. El-Imam emphasized the unwave

Kwara’s Inaugural Hajj flight now Tuesday May 21

The inaugural flight from General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport Ilorin for the 2024 Muslim pilgrimage will now be on Tuesday May 21. Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board said in a statement on Sunday that the change in the date is from NAHCON/airlines  owing to some delays in the initial plans. Pilgrims from Kwara had initially been scheduled to have their first flight on Monday May 20, 2024. “What this change means is that our pilgrims should not come to the camp today again as earlier announced. They should come tomorrow, Monday 20, ahead of their inaugural flight on Tuesday at 10:20am. This affects only the intending pilgrims whose names were earlier scheduled for the inaugural flight,” the statement said. “Further information will be released to guide all our pilgrims and the general public. KWSG Holds Stakeholders Meeting on Livestock Development

As part of efforts to keep Kwarans and the world informed about the activities of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's administration during his first year in his second term in office, the Kwara State Government has announced an Inter-Ministerial Press Briefing. This was contained in a statement released earlier today by the State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bolanle Olukoju. According to the statement, the briefing will feature all Commissioners in the State providing updates on their ministries over the past year. KWSG CONDUCTS COMPETENCY TEST FOR OVER 190 SENIOR CIVIL SERVANTS

   The Kwara State Government has conducted Competency and Leadership test for 196 Senior Civil Servants serving in the State.     The written test which was organised by the office of the State Head of Service, was held at the Peace Hotel, Ilorin.     The Permanent Secretary ( Establishment) in the Office of the Head of Service, Alh Mohammed Ibrahim Mohammed explained that the test was arranged as a prelude to the nomination of prospective Permanent Secretaries to fill the vacant positions in the Service.      He stated that successful Candidates would later be invited for another oral interview to be held next Tuesday before the final selection of the new additional Permanent Secretaries.     Mohammed also acknowledged the commitment of the State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazak at repositioning the State civil service ,stressing that the competency test was aimed at ensuring that only the best hands were assigned challenging responsibility.      He emphasised that

KWSG Steps up Enlightenment Campaign on Health

The Kwara State Government has stepped up its enlightenment and sensitization programme on health through a television show. The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, made this known today during a media briefing at her office, along Fate Road, Ilorin. She disclosed that the purpose of the television programme titled "Health Gist," a live television show was aimed at sensitizing citizens on health-related issues and evaluating the health care service delivery in Kwara State. Dr. El-Imam urged Kwarans to always listen to the programme on "Radio Kwara Midland  99.1 fm" from 10:00 am to 10:30 am on Wednesdays and watch the television show on "Kwara Television" from 10:30 am to 11:30 am every Saturday. The Kwara State Government has warned Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Headteachers of Primary Schools across the State against illegal charges for the State Placement Examination (Common Entrance). The State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa'adatu Modibbo Kawu, gave the warning today in her office, stressing that the examination is fully sponsored by the Kwara State Government.
