Govt Revokes 2024 Signage and Billboard Licenses

Following the  earlier notification on the suspension of all billboard licenses in the state, the Kwara State Government hereby inform the public of the immediate revocation of year 2024 signage and billboard licenses  across the state, even as it warns that, identifications are ongoing and enforcement will commence, this week.   This was contained in a statement released today from the office of the Chairman, Kwara State Taskforce Committee on Illegal Billboards and Signages and Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Kwara Govt Advises Residents on Precautions Against Effects of 'Heat Waves'

The Kwara State Government  has alerted residents of the State to take precautions against the predicted impending heat waves in the State.  The Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge, gave the advise to ensure necessary precautions are taken while on an official site inspection of some gully erosion sites at Omu-aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of the State.  The Commissioner, who was warmly received by the Olomu of Omu-aran, Oba AbdulRaheem Adeoti, said Kwara State is one of the states where the effect of climate change is manifest in the country.  Buge stated that Kwara  has been listed among the nineteen states of the country predicted by the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet), where heat waves and associated extremely high temperatures will be experienced. Lawmaker Assures RUWASSA of Commitment to Ending Open Defecation

A member representing Ilorin East constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Arinola Fatima Lawal has promised to work with the leadership of the House to enact laws that will prohibit open defecation to ensure cleaner and healthier environment. The lawmaker who gave the assurance when he received the General Manager of the Kwara State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), Mr Olorunfemi Oladipo who led management of the Agency on a courtesy call to her at the Assembly complex, told them that she is working on a bill that seek to put an end to open defecation. Govt Trains 25 Medical Personnel on CEMONC

The Kwara State Government has,  trained 25 Medical Personnels on Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (CEMONC), to aid the safety of mother and child, during delivery. Commissioner for Health, Dr Amina Ahmed El-Imam, stated this during the week at the training session of the medical personnel, held at Silver Gate Hotel, ilorin. 72 Patients Benefits from KWSG Free-H' Surgeries

No fewer than 72 indigent patients benefitted from free hydrocelectomy surgeries by the Kwara State Government, as part of its commitment to eliminating Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).  The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, disclosed this in Ilorin today, during the 2024 State Review Meeting on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), which was held at G Pinnacle hotel, Ilorin.
