KWSG APPROVES PROVISION OF 500KVA/33/0.415KV TO INTERNATIONAL AVIATION COLLEGE, ILORIN

(The newly procured transformer ) The Kwara State Government, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), has again approved the provision of 500KVA/ 33/ 0.415KV transformer to International Aviation College, Ilorin to enable smooth operation of the college. The Commissioner for Energy, Engr. AbdulAzeez Kola AbdulGaniy said this, while inspecting the transformer delivered today at the Ministry’s premises in Ilorin. Engr. AbdulGaniy noted that “Governor AbdulRazaq’s interest in infrastructural development is extraordinary." He therefore urged the Management of the Aviation College to maintain and protect government facilities in its care, to complement the efforts of the State Government at ensuring a meaningful and sustainable environment. • CoED Ilorin to host varsity of education, others to follow Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has named Prof. Shaykh-Lukman Alade Jimoh as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University (KWASU).  The appointment follows the outcome of the screening exercise of the university’s governing council where Prof. Shaykh-Lukman placed first among the candidates.  Shaykh-Lukman is currently the Ag. Vice Chancellor of the University. He was before then a Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University between 2020 and 2022.  He comes highly recommended to the job with decades of experience as an administrator and university scholar. Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Tuesday said he believes in full autonomy for local government areas.  He clarified that the position of the state in the ongoing legal proceedings on local government is that the state does not violate any section of the law regarding autonomy.  "It is my personal belief that each local government should manage its resources and be responsible for its obligations, including wages that are first line charges. 2024 Eid-l Kabir: KWARTMA Deploys 350 Personnel, Tasks Road Users to be Safety Conscious

The Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) has deployed 350 personnel as part of its traffic management strategies during the 2024 Eid-L-Kabir Celebration, to ensure a hitch-free movement of vehicles, people and goods within the State. The Ag. Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Engr. Bamidele Michael, in a press statement made in his office today 11th June, 2024.  According to Engr. Bamidele, Eight (8) Patrol vehicles, Two (2) Tow-trucks and Fourteen (14) Motorcycles have been deployed for this Special Operations.
