The Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWASRRA) has advised all State pensioners who did not receive their May 2025 pension payments to lodge their complaints via SMS, stating that there is no need to visit the agency’s office physically. This follows multiple complaints from affected pensioners after the disbursement of May pensions. To ensure swift resolution, KWASRRA has introduced a simple and secure SMS-based process. In a bid to further reduce the maternal and neonatal mortality rate across the state, the Kwara State Government through the Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, with support from United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and other partners, has commenced a 10-Day intensive training for 50 frontline healthcare workers across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.  The Executive Secretary, Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Prof. Nusirat Elelu, stated this recently during the official opening ceremony of the 10-Day training, which commenced on Monday 26th May, 2025 and will end on Wednesday, 4th June, 2025, at Peace Hotel and Suites, Tanke, Ilorin.  The Executive Secretary noted that the training will ensure that all participants improve their knowledge on emergency obstetrics and newborn care, which is a testament to the state government’s commitment to increase the indices of quality services to the citizens. In a bid to enhance productivity at Stella Obansanjo Multi-Purpose Hall in Ilorin, the Kwara State Government, through the Ministry of Women Affairs, has released the Hall to the Team from Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development in order to promote women empowerment and participation in Kwara State. The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Geographic Information Service (KWGIS), ESV. AbdulKareem Babatunde Sulyman, has urged Kwarans to always make use of professionals when embarking on building constructions, to avoid unnecessary building collapse and other dire consequences.  The Chairman dropped this hint in his office today, while fielding questions from journalists.  During the press session, the Chairman said; "regulatory agencies are put in place by government for our own safety and to ensure that the master plan of each society is strictly adhere to. The Kwara State Government, through the Ministry of Energy, has reiterated its commitment to collaborating with artisans in the State as part of efforts to improve the quality of goods and services available to residents and maintain a comprehensive database of practitioners in the electrical sector. The Kwara State Government has sealed off some extra mural coaching centres, computer, and cyber cafes across the State for failing to register, pay annual renewal fees, and comply with other regulatory requirements in violations of the State's regulations. Some of the affected centres were operating illegally without meeting the State's stipulated guidelines. This was revealed by the Executive Director of the Agency for Mass Education, Mallam Yusuf Saka who was represented by the Agency’s Desk Officer for Continuing Education, Mr Adedare Olusegun and Mrs Komolafe Atinuke during an enforcement tour to the affected centres, recently, conducted alongside with the Kwara State Internal Revenue service (KWIRS) enforcement team. Kwara State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, has expressed concern over the delay experienced by students sitting for the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) across the State, saying the late arrival of examination materials has caused the delay. Dr. Olohungbebe voiced his concerns on Wednesday during an on-the-spot assessment of several schools across Moro, Ilorin East, Ilorin South and Ilorin West Local Government Areas, describing the disruption, which also affected the English Language papers, as regrettable. The Commissioner called on the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to put in place better logistics and strategies to prevent a recurrence of such incidents in future examinations.
