KWSG Releases Stella Obasanjo Multi-Purpose Hall for Women Empowerment


In a bid to enhance productivity at Stella Obansanjo Multi-Purpose Hall in Ilorin, the Kwara State Government, through the Ministry of Women Affairs, has released the Hall to the Team from Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development in order to promote women empowerment and participation in Kwara State.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Chief (Mrs) Oluwakemi Afolashade, made this known on Friday while handing over the Hall to the Team, in her office. 

Chief Afolashade noted that Kwara State has been approved as the North Central Geopolitical Zonal Centre for Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development, which will serve as a training facility for the North Central States, a Resort and training facility for women interested in skills acquisition such as catering, painting, tailoring, noting that this will in turn improve  their livelihoods and encourage women participation. 

During an on-the-spot assessment of Stella Obansanjo Multi-Purpose Hall earlier before the handing over, the Commissioner noted that due process would be followed to ensure that the billboard for Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development is installed to create awareness.

In his remarks, the Team Leader, who is the Director, Training and Development, Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development, Mr Abdul Bolakale, explained that the purpose of the visit was to assess the state of the facility so as to know what is needed to keep it up and running in no time.
