Agric Commissioner Bags Innovation Award, Credits Governor AbdulRazaq for Sector Transformation

Dr. Afees Abolore Alabi, Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development in Kwara State, has been honoured with the Agricultural Innovation and Sustainability Award at the Kwara Political Awards 2025 tagged _“Unveiling Kwara Alert: Six Years of Leadership and the Road Ahead for Kwara State_,” hosted at the E-Phoenix Hotel, Ilorin.

The recognition—courtesy of Symbol and Alert Media—celebrates his contributions to a revitalized agricultural sector, powered by the bold and inclusive leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON.

While presenting the award, Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Cereals Research Institute (NCRI) and State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Sunday Fagbemi, commended the wide-reaching impact of the Ministry’s initiatives under Dr. Alabi. He described the Commissioner’s grassroots-first approach as a direct reflection of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s vision and leadership in the agricultural sector.

In his remarks, Dr. Alabi dedicated the honour to Governor AbdulRazaq, describing him as the driving force behind Kwara’s agricultural renewal.

“This honour belongs to His Excellency. Every step forward we’ve taken reflects his clear direction and investment in the sector, from inputs to innovation, extension to enterprise, his leadership continues to drive meaningful change across the State.”

He also thanked the organisers for spotlighting public service and commended the Publisher of Symbol and Alert Media, Mr. Emmanuel Remilekun,  for his unwavering dedication to civic journalism. He praised Mr. Remilekun’s consistent efforts in highlighting the developmental strides of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration, noting that his work has played a vital role in amplifying good governance and keeping the public informed over the years.

The Ministry views this recognition as a call to do more—building resilient food systems, scaling agribusiness, and improving rural livelihoods under the focused leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
