ANNOUNCEMENT: SANITATION EXERCISE HOLDS ON SATURDAY

This is to inform members of the public that the sanitation exercise for this month will come up on Saturday, 25th November, 2023 starting from seven to nine o'clock in the morning. (7:00 am to 9:00 am). Residents of the State are hereby enjoined to fully participate in the exercise, by cleaning both residential and business environments.   According to the press statement signed by the Press Secretary, Kwara State Ministry of Environment, Yakub Aliagan, members of the public should note as usual that, there shall be no vehicular or human movements across the state within the scheduled two-hour duration of the exercise. Security and Monitoring agents shall be on ground to monitor and ensure compliance across the entire State.  Waste Management trucks will also be made available for waste collections and subsequent disposal of same at the dump site of the metropolis. The Chairman of the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission Mallam Bello Tauheed Abubakar stated this today while addressing teachers of schools during an inspection visit to ascertain the compliance with the 2023/2024 academic calendar across selected schools in Ilorin. KWSG COMMENCES STATEWIDE STAKEHOLDERS SENSITIZATION EXERCISE ON L-PRES PROJECT

In preparation for the official flag-off of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), the Kwara State Government through the State Coordinating Office has commenced stakeholders' sensitization exercise for the project. The project, which has as part of its objectives, to improve livestock productivity, resilience, and commercialization of selected value chain and strengthened the country's capacity to respond to an eligible crisis in the sector. Rural Electrification Agency Supports Kwara Farmers with Solar-Powered Pumps

The Rural Electrification Agency (REA), in collaboration with National Fadama Development Project (NFDP), has supported dry season farming across the 16 local government areas of state with Solar Powered Irrigation Pumps, to enhance food security in Kwara State and to ensure all year-round in farming/cropping. This is coming as a result of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in July 2022 between REA and (NFDP). Presenting the solar-powered irrigation pumps, the Higher Technical Officer, Rural Electrification Agency, North Central Zone, Engr.
