L-PRES PROJECT: MONARCH COMMENDS F.G, KWSG ON LIVESTOCK DEVELOPMENT

The Olupako of Share, His Royal Highness, Oba Haruna Olawale Suleiman Adegbite has commended both Federal and Kwara State Government, for their untiring efforts at developing the livestock sector of the State and the Nigeria at large.

Oba Haruna made this commendation during the week, at the ongoing sensitization exercise on Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) in the State, when the team visited him in his Palace, at Share, the Headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The Monarch, who noted that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration giant strides, which cut across all the sectors are positively impacting the lives of citizens, across the State.

The Royal Father, disclosed further that, Ifelodun Local Government hosts one of the largest livestock farms in the state, assured government of his people's support in the implementation of the project.

Oba Haruna however enjoined stakeholders to adequately participate in the implementation process of the project, with a view to attracting more developments, to the communities in his Local Government.

Earlier, The State Project Coordinator. (SPC) Mr. Olusoji Oyawoye had informed the Monarch that the project was initiated to develop livestock facilities across the country, aimed at enhancing the capacity of livestock farmers and providing lasting solution to reoccurring cases of herders and farmers conflicts among others.

Itemizing potential beneficiaries of the project, the Coordinator disclosed that the project was designed to empower people along livestock value chain such as; Pastoralists, Butchers, Yoghurt and Milk Processors, Hide and Skin Marchants, Poultry Farmers, Livestock Service Providers and other value chain operators in the sector.

He however, solicited for the cooperation of all stakeholders, for successful implementation and sustainability of the project in the State.

Stakeholders in attendance include; Fulani Herders, Butcher Leaders, Poultry Farmers, Community Leaders, Women in Livestock Business among others.
