KWTV Begins 24 hours Transmission

The Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has re-echoed the government's readiness to continually upgrade and reposition the media houses in the state for effective dissemination of government's activities.

Gov. AbdulRazaq made this assertion during the official switch on of transmission signal for 24 hours broadcasting of the Kwara State Television Authority (KWTV). 
He recalled that on assumption of office, the State-owned media houses ; Radio Kwara, Kwara State Television and The Herald, were virtually dead as workers' morale was very low.

"Before this administration came on board, our media houses were in a state of comatose but under our watch, we have successfully turned the narrative around and we will not stop until we achieve our aims," the governor said.

Mallam AbdulRazaq also said that since he  became the governor, Radio Kwara and the Herald Newspaper have benefitted from the media houses restructuring  as Radio Kwara now  broadcasts 24 hours nonstop, with quality content and the Kwara State Printing and Publishing Corporation, the Publishers of the Herald Newspapers, is also being upgraded.

Earlier, the Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Olabode George Towoju, said it is "an unprecedented feat in the history of Kwara State and the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman Abdularazaq, has once again, shown his readiness to reposition the media houses in the State. 
"It is good that our darling Kwara State Television Authority is back on air after it went off air in September last year. I want to assure you that Kwara TV will not go down again as the present administration is committed to ensuring that best practices in the industry are upheld by the station.
"Worthy of note is the fact that this administration has also obtained broadcast licences for two new radio stations, Kakakin FM 88.9 and Nootia FM 88.7, which will further help in projecting the numerous  activities of the government to our people and aid us in getting closer to our people in Kwara North while ensuring that our people do not need to go to Benin Republic to use their radio station anymore," the commissioner added.

Towoju urged the workers to cooperate with the government that has made them a part of the historical achievement in the State.
The Chairman, Kwara State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism, Hon Awolola Ayotunde , in his remarks, commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for successfully turning around the fortunes of the state owned media houses.

Tne Special Adviser to the Governor on Strategy, Alhaji Saad Salahudeen and the Deputy Chairman of the House of Assembly Committee on Information, Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism, Hon. Felix Awodiji were among those who graced the occasion.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
