The Office of the Head of Service (OHOS) led by the Permanent Secretary( Service Welfare) and Representative of the HOS, Dr. Shittu Olufunke led an unscheduled visit to some government offices to monitor workers punctuality at their duty posts.
The monitoring team visited Ministry of Education, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Special Duties, Ministry of Commerce and the Civil Service Commission.
The permanent Secretary awarded cash gift to a total of five workers for been first to resume duty at their respective offices.
Those rewarded included a Clerical Officer in the Min. Of Special Duties, Mr Ogundele Faseyi; Mr Adeosun Samuel and Mr Alhassan Aminu both of Education Ministry; Mrs Abdulraheem Aminat ( Energy) and Mr Yusuf Tunde Usman of the CSC.
It will be recalled that on assumption of office, the Permanet Secretary promised to operate with the carrot-and-stick approach to service, which prompted the cash gift.
Dr. Shittu said the gesture was just to encourage other civil servants to be on top of their jobs, while commending the early comers to continue in the same vein as bigger reward awaits them.
She however implore workers to follow suit in the spirit of punctuality,diligence and dedication, assuring that their loyalty would not be in vain.
The beneficiaries jointly lauded the Office of the HOS for paying keen attention to their service while promising to sustain the tempo for the betterment of the State Civil Service.
The monitoring team included the Director of Training and Establishment, Mr Adebisi James;
Director, Admin and Finance, Mrs Balogun Florence; Director, Staff Matter, Hajia Humuani Bashir; Director, State Procurement, Mrs Atinuke Oluala and Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Alh Wasiu Alaya.
