LG Projects Inspection: Commissioner Rates Isin, Irepodun Councils High
Isin and Irepodun Local Government Councils in the Kwara South Senatorial districts of the State have been rated high over the implementation of capital projects with far reaching impacts on citizens.
The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata stated this in a separate inspection assessment of the ongoing second phase of the projects monitoring at the Councils.
Hon. Bata, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Iyabo Modupe and Directors from the Ministry, disclosed that the monitoring was to assess the impact of the projects done and expressed satisfaction over the work done, urging other Councils yet to be visited to hasten up their work.
The Commissioner further disclosed that all the projects commissioned were all legacy projects demanded by the benefitting communities, while maintaining the neutrality of the Ministry in the selection and execution of all the projects.
He equally appreciated the Council Bosses for prioritizing the needs of their people in the provision of dividends of democracy over and above their personal interests.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman, Isin Local Government Council, Hon. Benjamin Lanre Jolayemi disclosed that it has become very imminent for him to complement the giant strides of the Executive Governor of Kwara State by providing the basic needs of his people, assuring other communities of similar projects in due course.
Similarly, the Executive Chairman, Irepodun Local Government Council, Hon. Abdulazeez Tinuola Yakub while speaking at various sites of inspection, thanked the benefiting communities for their patience.
He also thanked the Commissioner and his team for the inspection, while assuring him that all ongoing projects would be completed to specifications before embarking on new ones.
The projects visited in Isin Council Areas were; the commissioning of five lock up shops at Edidi and inspection of lock up shops at Owu - Isin, commissioning of the newly constructed office building for the Directorate of State Security Services and another building to accommodate other Federal Government Agencies at the Council Secretariat, grading of roads at Oke - Onigbin and Owu - Isin, drilling of motorized boreholes at Egi - Owu and Jamat Secondary School, provisions of lockers and chairs to some selected schools in the Council, among others.
Projects inspected at the Irepodun Council Areas included; construction of perimeter fencing and renovation of the police clinic in Omu - Aran, reconstruction of box culvert at Ile - Nla, Omu - Aran, renovation of 2 classrooms at Oko Community School, drilling of motorized boreholes at the security building at Omu - Aran, Irapa in Oko, Alaran's Palace and Irebode in Oro, among others.
