KWSG Warns Against Degrading Public Infrastructure

The Kwara State Government has warned members of the public against degrading and defacing of roads and other public infrastructure for billboards and advertisements under whatever disguise, otherwise, there will be consequences.

This warning was contained in a statement released from the office of the Ag General Manager, Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA), Mr 'Toba Adeyeye arpa, in Ilorin, the state capital today.

This statement was issued consequent upon the rate of damage done to the newly constructed road median across the metropolis.

It therefore stressed the need for all and sundry to either strictly adhere to the Agency's guidelines or face appropriate sanctions, according to the dictates of the law.

The statement added that KWASAA is committed to restore law and order in signage and advertisement sector, not minding whose ox is gored.

The statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Agency, reminded members of the public and practitioners of the need to obtain necessary approval from Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA), before mounting billboards and signage. 

According to the statement; "Every brand intending to carry out a road show on the premise of promotion and market activation, must get an approval from Kwara State Ministry of Environment as well as the Agency,  before carrying out such acts. Failure to do so will attract appropriate sanctions, as stated by the law"

"KWASAA is open and committed to partnering with businesses of all sizes, to support their growth through responsible signage and advertising. 

"In line with the ongoing infrastructure transformation across the State, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration, we invite all stakeholders to join us in creating a more vibrant, orderly and visually appealing environment," it stated.

The statement charged everyone to adhere to the established guidelines that promotes safety, beauty and harmony in our shared public spaces, calling on all practitioners and the public to comply with the reforms by adhering strictly to all regulatory guidelines.
