Environmental Sanitation Holds Saturday
The Kwara State monthly environmental sanitation exercise for the month of May, will hold on Saturday, 31st 2025 between the hours of seven o'clock and ten o'clock (7:00am to 10:00am) in the morning.
This was contained in a press statement issued today from the office of the state Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge.
As usual, the statement enjoined residents to participate fully in the sanitation exercise, by clearing and cleaning both their residential and business environments.
According to the press statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Ministry Mrs Shakirat Muritala; "there will be no vehicular and human movement across the state, during the period of the exercise."
The statement further stated that the Ministry will sustain the community collaboration in waste disposal that was adopted in the last exercise and as such, waste management trucks will be made available for waste collections and subsequent disposal at government approved dump sites, warning that, it is an offence, punishable by law, to dump refuse on pedestrian walkways, road side, in drainages, canals, and any unapproved locations.
It enjoined the public to give cleanliness top priority, as muslim faithfuls prepares for Eid-el-Kabir festivities, wishing them a prosperous celebration in advance.
