Kwara Governor Congratulated on 6 Years in Office
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has been congratulated on his six-year anniversary in office, marking significant achievements in advancing the State's development. The commendation has significantly highlighted his efforts in moving Kwara State forward.
The Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, Barrister Abubakar Othman, extended the congratulations during a recent visit to the Ilorin West Local Government Area. The purpose of the visit was to inspect ongoing and newly completed projects by the council secretariat. Barrister Othman explained that the Fiscal Responsibility Commission had planned to visit all 774 local government areas nationwide. However, he expressed confidence in the Ilorin office's capability to handle inspections within Kwara State.
The Chairman of the Ilorin West Local Government Area, represented by DPM, Alhaji Seidu Sabi Husseini, welcomed the team and emphasized the secretariat's role in safeguarding the interests of local government citizens and the State at large. Alhaji Husseini noted that the secretariat's efforts was aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability in governance.
During the visit, the team inspected various development projects undertaken by the local government area. The projects are a demonstration of the government's commitment to improving infrastructure and providing essential services to citizens.
The ongoing and newly executed projects visited by the Commission included: the construction of two blocks of classrooms at Jooro community School Oko-Erin, construction of perimeter fence at Pakata Health Centre, installation of 100 solar powered street lights across wards in Ilorin West, construction of two blocks of classrooms at Oloje community school, procurement and installation of 33KVA transformers to communities at Gas Odota, Wara Egbejila ward, installation of second phase of 50 street lights powered to communities, renovation of Oke-Agodi Primary Health Centre, and installation of motorized solar powered borehole at Magaji Ngeri ward.
The inspection visit has highlighted Governor AbdulRazaq's achievements and the collaborative efforts between the State government and the Fiscal Responsibility Commission. The initiative is aimed at promoting good governance, transparency, and development in Kwara State.
