Commissioner commends NASSCO for Being Proactive on Data Population
The State Commissioner for Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Mary Arinde has commended the proactivess of the National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO), in populating the social register of the poor and vulnerable people in the state.
The Commissioner gave the commendation yesterday when she visited the management team of NASCCO, at its GRA Office in Ilorin, the state capital.
She expressed satisfaction with the activities of the agency, on the collation of data of the poor, noting that the populated register would assist the state government tremendously in its planning efforts for the less privileged, in the state.
Dr. Arinde noted that NASSCO, has been rendering a great service to the poor and vulnerable in the state, urging the Project Coordinator to sustain the tempo.
Earlier, the State Coordinator of NASSCO, Dr. Taiye Iliasu, thanked the Commissioner and her entourage for the visit, briefing them on the activities of the Agency that, NASSCO populates the social register of the poor across the state, through the community based targeting approach.
He disclosed further that this group of people are being populated at the state level and transferred to the Federal Agency for mitigation to national social register, which is simultaneously done in all the 36 states of the federation, including Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
"NASSCO, does not implement, but other intervention agencies come to filter from the populated list for all categories of beneficiaries such as NG Cares, Fadama, and others." Iliasu added.
He then expressed his profound appreciation to the Commissioner and her entourage, for having the agency at heart and most importantly, the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), for his determination to put smiles on the faces of the people.
