KWSG Reopens Government High School Adeta and Government Day Secondary School Adeta

The Kwara State Government has ordered the immediate reopening of Government High School, Adeta and Government Day Secondary School, Adeta, both in Ilorin West Local Government Area, following a crucial meeting with community leaders and other stakeholders.
The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, issued the directive on Friday during a visit to Government High School, Adeta.
He announced that students of the two schools are to resume academic activities on Monday, 20 May 2025, and urged parents to warn their children and wards to shun all forms of antisocial behaviour upon resumption.
Dr Olohungbebe appealed to parents and the wider community to support the government’s comprehensive reform agenda aimed at restoring order in the two schools, adding that adequate security measures would be put in place.
He further warned that any pupil who violates school rules and regulations will be expelled by the school authorities.
Those present at the meeting included the Executive Chairman, Ilorin West Local Government, Hon Sheu Abdulraman Ladan; the Executive Chairman, Kwara State Teaching Service Commission, Mallam Bello Tauheed Abubakar; the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mrs Olanrewaju Rebecca Bake; permanent members of the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission and the State Primary Education Board; the Ologbin of Adewole, Alhaji Yusuf Yakub Adewole; directors from the Ministry and the Teaching Service Commission; representatives of the State Primary Education Board; the Old Students’ Association; former principals of Government High School; eminent scholars from the Adewole community; the Adewole Community Development Association; and parents, among others.
