Kwara Achieves Key Economic Planning Milestones, Deepens UN Partnership
The Kwara State Government, through the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, has recorded landmark achievements in planning and economic growth, stressing that its proactiveness has articulated effective and efficient budget for the fiscal year.
The Commissioner for Planning and Economic Development, Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Arinde, made this known on Wednesday at the 1st quarter Inter-Ministerial Press Briefing organised by the Ministry of Communications, held at the conference room of Ministry of Finance, Ilorin.
Dr Arinde said the Ministry is also responsible for planning, evaluating and monitoring of all the State’s projects across board, adding that the State Government successfully signed an agreement with United Nations Fund Population (UNFPA) to support the State in strengthening access to reproductive and adolescent health project.
"The State Government recorded a smooth budget planning process through the unrelenting efforts of Ministry of Planning and Economic Development”, the Commissioner noted.
Dr Arinde disclosed that the Ministry has maintained an inter-ministerial relationship with all Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the State for the purpose of collecting data and maintaining a reliable database on contractual obligation and pension, granting arrears.
The Commissioner explained that the Ministry carried out harmonization exercise between the Directorate of Debt Management and the Main Account of the Office of the Accountant General in order to have undisputed figures in the financial year 2024 statement report of the State.
