Kwara State Civil Servants Cautioned Against Indolence at Work

Civil servants in the Kwara State civil service have been cautioned against indolence and lack of commitment in the discharge of their duties.

The Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare, Dr. (Mrs.) Mercy Olufunke Shittu, gave the warning while receiving representatives of Offa indigenes in the state service during a courtesy visit to her office in Ilorin, the state capital.

She stressed that the state government has been making deliberate efforts to ensure improved welfare and a conducive working environment for its workforce.

Dr. Shittu urged civil servants to be more dedicated and diligent in their duties, assuring that those who distinguish themselves will be recognised and rewarded accordingly.

While expressing appreciation for the solidarity visit, the Permanent Secretary also advised the workers to shun absenteeism and truancy.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Mr. Olagunju Akeem congratulated Dr. Shittu on her appointment and prayed for a successful tenure.
