Kwara Airlifts Final Batch of 140 Pilgrims for Hajj 2025

Last batch of intending pilgrims from Kwara State onboard Max Air this evening at the Tunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin.

The final batch of 140 pilgrims from Kwara State, including 24 officials of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), departed the Tunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin, for Saudi Arabia this evening to perform the 2025 Hajj rites.

Addressing the pilgrims before departure, the Chairman of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Professor Mashood Mahmud-Jimba, advised them to conduct themselves with decorum throughout the pilgrimage. He warned against smuggling prohibited items into Saudi Arabia.

Professor Mahmud-Jimba noted that adequate arrangements had been made to ensure a hitch-free Hajj experience. He urged the pilgrims to avoid strenuous activities in order to prepare physically and mentally for the rigours of the pilgrimage.

He also encouraged them to make use of the medical facilities provided, emphasising the importance of maintaining good health to complete the Hajj rites successfully.

In his remarks, the Amirul Hajj for this year and the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Barrister Ismail Yahaya-Alebiosu, expressed satisfaction with the seamless airlift arrangements. He commended the Kwara State Government for providing the necessary logistics and support to the Board.

Barrister Yahaya-Alebiosu urged the pilgrims to obey all rules and regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to represent the state and country with dignity.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, also charged the pilgrims to be good ambassadors of Nigeria and prayed for their safe travels. He encouraged them to pray for the peace and prosperity of the country.

A total of 2,210 pilgrims from Kwara State are expected to perform this year’s Hajj rites in Saudi Arabia.
