Gov AbdulRazaq Commended for Creating KWFRC

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has been commended for the creation of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (KWFRC) as the body responsible for overseeing how Government funds and resources are utilized.

The Chairman Fiscal Responsibility Commission Barr. Abubakar Othman received the commendation when the Commission visited the Asa Local Government Council recently on the inspection of ongoing and completed projects.

He explained that the Commission will organize a press conference after the inspection of all the sixteen local governments in the State, after which each local government will be graded according to their performance, respectively.

The Chairman of Asa Local Government Council, Alhaji Shehu Amasa Yahaya who commended the Kwara State Governor for creating the Commission, promised to cooperate with the Commission anytime they are ready for the inspection."Your commission will help the local government and other Agencies to let the public know that we are doing what we are supposed to do", he said.

The Chairman also disclosed that his Council has not only embarked on several physical projects, but has also invested in human capital development as 46 students are currently being sponsored by the Council at the Osun State Polytechnic.

The ongoing and newly executed projects visited by the Commission included: the renovation of the Daudu of Bala's Palace, seven communities connected to the national grid in Alapa area, renovation of the health centre at Ode Giwa, installation of a new transformer at the Asa Council Secretariat, renovation of a block of two classrooms with an office, toilet and furniture, construction of two classrooms for the junior secondary school at Elebure, construction of a primary health centre at Sosoki, purchase of vehicles and motorcycles to convey staff to work, including the purchase of tractors and ambulance for the Council. Others are the tarring of roads and provision of solar street lights in Afon, Ote and Budo Egba.
