Kwara Launches Hotline to Combat Social Vices, Abuse, and Domestic Violence

The Kwara State Government has unveiled a hotline for reporting issues related to social vices, child abuse, sexual abuse, harassment, and domestic violence in order to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents in the state.

The Commissioner for Social Development, Hon. Mariam Nnafatima Imam, PhD, made this known during the first quarter Inter-Ministerial Press Briefing organised by the Ministry of Communications at the conference room of Ministry of Finance, Ilorin.

The Commissioner stated that it has become imperative that cases of social vices and violations of the rights of women, children and other vulnerable groups are reported promptly, to allow immediate response and intervention by the Ministry.

Hon. Mariam explained that the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, is committed to ensuring an inclusive government where every life matters and the rights of children and vulnerable groups are respected in the state.

She called on the public to share the hotline widely, to give voice to the voiceless, hope to the hopeless and to ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice, reiterating the need for joint efforts to enable safety for all residents in Kwara State.
