KWSG STRATEGIES ON INNOVATIONS FOR IMPLEMENTING NUTRITION PROGRAMMES
The Kwara State Government has strategised on innovative ideas for implementing nutrition programmes across the state, while restating its commitment to cater for the well-being of the citizens.
The Acting Chairman, State Committee on Food and Nutrition (SCFN) who doubles as the State Director of Planning, Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, Alhaji Sarajudeen Alimi, stated this recently during the first quarter meeting for the year 2025, held at the conference room of the Ministry of Finance, Ilorin.
Alhaji Alimi commended all members of the Committee for their unrelented efforts at addressing the issues of malnutrition in the state.
The Ag. Chairman emphasised that the State Government requires the adaptation of a multi-sectoral approach to address effective nutrition programmes across the state.
"The Kwara State Government is keen to address issues related to eradicating malnutrition in Kwara State", Alhaji Alimi said.
He added that the first quarter meeting is embedded with the training of members on how to prepare an effective budget and nutrition programmes implementation in their various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) across the state.
During the training, the Deputy Director, Budget, Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, Mr Matthew Ajayi, enlightened the Committee members on how to prepare an effective nutrition budget and steps to actualise the release of funds for programmes implementation.
Mr Ajayi urged all the SCFN members to always work with the assigned Planning Officers of their respective Ministries with a view to avoid mistakes in programme implementation.
