KWSG Rolls Out Financial Grants to Registered Youth Bodies


In a remarkable move to boost grassroots development, the Kwara State Government has today disbursed financial assistance to several community-based youth organizations, registered under the Ministry’s development framework.

The disbursement, carried out by the State Commissioner for Youths Development, Amb. Ndanusa Usman Shehu, at the Ministry's conference room earlier today, is part of the ongoing commitment of the State government to  empower youth-led initiatives that contribute meaningfully to local communities. 

He commended the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, for his unwavering support towards youths development and for creating an enabling environment for youths to thrive in the State.

Amb. Ndanusa further stressed that the financial aid is a reflection of the government’s continued investment in the potentials of young  entrepreneurs. “Our young people are the backbone of our future, and it is vital that we continue to invest in their potentials.The initiative seeks to empower youth groups engaged in social, educational, and community-building activities, enabling them to further impact their local communities," the Commissioner remarked.

He then advised other groups, associations and clubs who have not registered with the Ministry, to do so and become beneficiaries.

The Chairperson, House Committee on Youths Development, Hon. Rukayat shittu, noted that the grant is one of the important commitments of  Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's administration, stressing that the Governor is working assiduously towards ensuring that youths become  independent, while also tackling unemployment to foster national development and boost skills acquisitions.She further advised the beneficiaries to utilize the money given to them well and be good ambassadors of the State. 

In his goodwill message, the Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Lafia Aliyu Korasabi, expressed his appreciation to the State Governor for being youths friendly and implored the youths to reciprocate the gesture by contributing meaningfully to the development of the State.

Speaking at the event, the State Director of Youths, Alh. Abdulsalam Akeem, expressed appreciation for the initiative and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting young people at the grassroots. He urged the beneficiaries to remain focused and accountable in the use of the funds, adding that the success of their projects would serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration to others.

Some of the beneficiaries are: Ayuba Azeez, from Ifesowapo Youths Development, Abdulkadir Kawu Manzuma from the Kwara North Youth Progressive Movement, Afolabi Sikiru from Isale Ofa Youthy Association, Ogunjide Stephen Adetunji from Obo Aiyegunle Youths Vanguard, among others. 

Present at the occasion were top government officials, staff of the Ministry, and beneficiaries from the 16 Local Government Areas of the State.
