Synergy Between Works and Transport Ministries is Fundamental to Economic Growth* - Olododo

The need for synergy between Ministries of Works and Transports  is fundamental to driving development and building a reliable and sustainable economy, in Kwara State.  

Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, stated this in Ilorin today, while receiving the newly appointed Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Lafia Aliyu Kora Sabi, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.  

Olododo noted that the Transport Ministry is a vital component of the economic growth agenda of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration, urging the Commissioner of the newly created ministry, Hon Lafia to build upon the ongoing reforms in the transport sector, to ensure efficiency that would help save lives and reduce unproductive hours lost in traffic.  
Responding, new Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Lafia Aliyu Kora Sabi expressed appreciation for his Works Ministry counterpart's guidance while stressing the importance of synergy between both ministries.  Hon. Sabi reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the Transport Ministry contributes meaningfully to the economic growth and development of Kwara State.  

It is worth noting that the Ministries of Works and Transport were previously merged before the State Government recently created the standalone Ministry of Transport.

Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) said applicants for the public school teaching jobs can now check the results of the CBT done earlier on Saturday.  TESCOM Chairman Mallam Bello Taoheed said all the applicants who sat the test can access their results on the portal. "This is the first step after the exams. The Commission will soon release the cutoffs that would determine the candidates who proceed to the interview stage, among other things," he said. "At the end of the CBT, a total of 8,529 sat and completed the exam across the centres. The breakdowns are as follows: COED Ilorin, 2,891; Ilorin West LGA, 1,991; UNILORIN, 1,677; Lafiagi, 812; Offa, 586; Oko, 297; Patigi, 275. A total of 9,459 applicants had been invited for the CBT across the seven centres. The remaining applicants did not show up for the exercise. Interested and qualified individuals can apply through: https://tescom.kwarastate.gov.ng .
