Now is the Time to Do More" – Abolore Calls for Dedication as He Assumes Office

Following the recent cabinet reshuffle by His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, Dr. Afees Abolore Alabi has officially resumed office as the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development.

During his inaugural address to the management team, Dr. Abolore emphasized the importance of diligence, commitment, and unwavering focus in advancing the administration’s vision for agriculture in Kwara State.

He called on the Ministry’s leadership and staff to remain steadfast in their dedication to service, urging them to give their best in furthering the agricultural transformation agenda set by Governor AbdulRazaq.

“I have no doubt in your capacity to deliver. You have always given your best in service; now is the time to do even more in our collective pursuit of excellence in Kwara’s agricultural sector,” Dr. Abolore stated.

Dr. Abolore also extended his appreciation to his predecessor, Hon. Oloruntoyosi Thomas, now the Commissioner for Livestock, commending her for her dedication and the high standards she had set during her tenure. He acknowledged her efforts in positioning the Ministry in a positive light and ensuring its progress.

In her handover remarks, Hon. Oloruntoyosi Thomas expressed gratitude to the Ministry’s management and staff for their unwavering support throughout her tenure. She assured them that the Ministry remains in capable hands under the leadership of Dr. Abolore and encouraged them to maintain their commitment to delivering excellence.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Funke Sokoya, warmly welcomed Dr. Abolore and assured him of the full cooperation and support of the management and staff.

“We are fully committed to ensuring the continued success of the Ministry. With teamwork and dedication, we will achieve the vision set by His Excellency for agriculture in Kwara State,” Mrs. Sokoya stated. 

She also expressed gratitude to the immediate past Commissioner for her service and prayed for a successful tenure for Dr. Abolore.

As Dr. Afees Abolore Alabi assumed this crucial role, he has reaffirmed his commitment to driving agricultural growth and rural development in Kwara State. He urged all stakeholders to work together in achieving the government’s vision of a sustainable and prosperous agricultural sector.

Kwara TESCOM releases CBT results, to announce cutoffs ahead of interview, screenings

Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) said applicants for the public school teaching jobs can now check the results of the CBT done earlier on Saturday.  TESCOM Chairman Mallam Bello Taoheed said all the applicants who sat the test can access their results on the portal. "This is the first step after the exams. The Commission will soon release the cutoffs that would determine the candidates who proceed to the interview stage, among other things," he said. "At the end of the CBT, a total of 8,529 sat and completed the exam across the centres. The breakdowns are as follows: COED Ilorin, 2,891; Ilorin West LGA, 1,991; UNILORIN, 1,677; Lafiagi, 812; Offa, 586; Oko, 297; Patigi, 275. A total of 9,459 applicants had been invited for the CBT across the seven centres. The remaining applicants did not show up for the exercise. Interested and qualified individuals can apply through: https://tescom.kwarastate.gov.ng . The link will go live at 12 midnight on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025, and will close on Friday, February 14th, 2025.
