... ICT centre to boost economic activities-LG Boss...
In continuation of the ongoing project inspection across all the Local Government Council Areas in the State, the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftancy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar Bata has expressed excitement over the choices and targeted beneficiaries of projects executed by the Isin Local Government Council under the leadership of Hon. (Prince) Benjamin Lanre Jolayemi.
The Commissioner, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Iyabo Modupe Adekeye disclosed that the Council had led a precedent of good legacy in the judicious use of funds for projects.
Speaking on the construction of the Information, Communication and Technology edifice, (ICT Centre) at the Secretariat, he commended the Chairman for his foresight as the centre will enable their constituents to have access to ICT and also boost the economic activities of the Council.
Hon. Bata thanked the Chairman for his giant strides within the few months of his inauguration, as he described the impact of projects executed as life touching. He was very optimistic that the benefitting communities would never forget the Chairman for identifying with them.
In his remarks, the Chairman thanked the Commissioner for his guidance and advice, which he said had contributed to the success. He disclosed that most projects executed were the requests of the various communities during his campaign promises, and felt there was the need to further justify the confidence of the electorates on Government officials to keep their promises and provide basic needs of citizens.
Hon. Jolayemi said that the provision of gadgets such as computers, internet service and space in the centre to accommodate close to 150 trainees at once is unique as it would also serve as the venue for the registration of JAMB, NECO and other internet related registrations.
In his words, "I want to thank the management team for their understanding and cooperation towards the accomplishments because without them it will not have been possible to execute the laudable projects, and to the Councillors, I am very grateful for the support and collaboration".
Among the projects inspected were the grading of several agrarian roads, construction of blocks of class rooms at Kajola Alla and the renovations of class rooms at Egi Owu. Others are drilling of motorized boreholes at Edidi Town, Ijara Town, Alla Town and Gaa Edidi, among others, while procurement and installation of Solar lights in strategic places across the eleven political wards is still in progress
