KWFRC MONITORS ONGOING PROJECTS

The Kwara State Fiscal Responsibility Commission (KWFRC) has met with the State Ministry of Works to monitor projects in the State and ascertain compliance with fiscal discipline, ensuring that public funds are used judiciously.   

The Chairman of the Commission, Barr. Abubakar Othman, wondered why the projects have not been completed yet, urging the contractors to ensure timely completion of the projects before their next visit.

Projects inspected included the rehabilitation of the Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Ilorin, installation of an elevated 70 meter flag- pole, along Unity Flyover, Ilorin, and the Kwara State International Park at Asa Local Government Area of the State.  

At the Unity Flyover, the project Engineer, Aduagba Abdulrazaq disclosed that the elevated 70 metre flag- pole being constructed will be second to none in Nigeria and it will carry the Nigeria flag high. He disclosed that the project will be concluded in three weeks. 

 Similarly, at the Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Ilorin, the Project, Engr. Abdulrazaq explained further that the project had reached 48% completion and will be handed over to the State Government in four weeks.  

Also, at the Kwara State International Park at Budo Aworo in Asa Local Government Area, the Contractor, Fab Confidential Ltd., informed the team that the site will accommodate industries and factories, adding that the project will be completed before the end of March, 2025.
