Kwara Sports Commission Chairman Applauds Governor AbdulRazaq’s Unwavering Commitment to Sports Transformation
The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bolakale Adisa, has lauded Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON for his steadfast commitment to revolutionizing sports in the state. He emphasized that the governor’s unwavering support has elevated the sports sector and ignited unprecedented growth and development, positioning Kwara as a rising powerhouse in athletics and recreation.
Coach Adisa stated this during the week when he was featured in Network Kwara, a live television program, sponsored by Kwara State Ministry of Communications.
Coach Adisa praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his transformative investments in sports infrastructure, emphasizing the Governor’s dedication to maintaining top-quality natural grass football fields and renovating hostels at the state’s sports academy. He noted that these initiatives are not only enhancing athletic performance but also creating a more conducive environment for nurturing future sports champions.
He also noted that Kwara State is the only state with a dedicated table tennis hall, showcasing its commitment to diverse sports.
The Chairman emphasized the state’s inclusive approach to sports, with para-sports providing equal opportunities for athletes with disabilities.
He praised the government's hands-off approach, which helped the sports academy jump from 21st or 22nd place to a remarkable sixth place in the country.
Coach Adisa revealed plans for the coming national sports festival in May, where grassroots athletes will compete for a chance to represent the state.
He further described Governor AbdulRazaq’s dedication to sports development and his vision for nurturing homegrown talents as positioning Kwara State as a leader in sports excellence Nationwide.
