Kwara Govt Reaffirms Commitment to Local Content, Pledges Support for Herald

The Kwara State government has reiterated its dedication to promoting local content and strengthening indigenous institutions across the State. 

The General Manager of the Kwara State Public Procurement Agency, QS Raheem AbdulBaki, stated this during a courtesy visit to the Kwara State Printing and Publishing Agency, publishers of "The Herald Newspapers".  

Describing "The Herald" as a key legacy of Kwara State that must be preserved and promoted, AbdulBaki emphasized the Agency’s responsibility in monitoring local content performance—an area, in which he noted significant progress. He assured "The Herald" of the government’s support in restoring the newspaper to full operational capacity and pledged to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure it not only meets but surpasses expectations.  

In response, the General Manager of "The Herald," Mr. Yomi Adeboye, expressed appreciation for AbdulBaki’s commitment to local content and his Agency’s support. He highlighted "The Herald’s" extensive printing and news coverage capabilities, emphasizing that beyond traditional media, the organization has the capacity to stream live programmes across digital platforms, reaching a global audience.  

Adeboye further underscored "The Herald’s" readiness to partner with stakeholders to enhance the business prospects of the Kwara State Printing and Publishing Agency. He reiterated the institution’s potential to contribute significantly to the State’s media landscape while driving economic opportunities.  

With this renewed government backing, "The Herald" is poised for revitalization, reinforcing its role as a pillar of journalism and publishing in Kwara State.

Kwara TESCOM releases CBT results, to announce cutoffs ahead of interview, screenings

Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) said applicants for the public school teaching jobs can now check the results of the CBT done earlier on Saturday.  TESCOM Chairman Mallam Bello Taoheed said all the applicants who sat the test can access their results on the portal. "This is the first step after the exams. The Commission will soon release the cutoffs that would determine the candidates who proceed to the interview stage, among other things," he said. "At the end of the CBT, a total of 8,529 sat and completed the exam across the centres. The breakdowns are as follows: COED Ilorin, 2,891; Ilorin West LGA, 1,991; UNILORIN, 1,677; Lafiagi, 812; Offa, 586; Oko, 297; Patigi, 275. A total of 9,459 applicants had been invited for the CBT across the seven centres. The remaining applicants did not show up for the exercise. Kwara TESCOM Opens Application Portal for Teaching Jobs

Interested and qualified individuals can apply through: https://tescom.kwarastate.gov.ng .
