OLUKOJU CREATES PUBLIC RELATIONS UNIT AT MOC…Holds maiden meeting with staff of the unit.

The Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bolanle Olukoju has created a Public Relations Unit at the Ministry of Communications in order to leverage good media relations and get feedback through government and citizens engagement.

The newly created Public Relations Unit is to be manned by eight (8) pioneer members of staff with Mall. Baba Mohammed and Ajileye Adebayo emerging as Head and Deputy Head respectively.

Other members of the unit are Ololu Lawal, Ndidi Nwafor, Olajumoke Adebayo, Omolara Funmilola Adekeye, and Oyenike Ajayi while Ronke Susan Oyegbade would serve as the Secretary.

The Commissioner, at a meeting with the staff of the newly created unit in her office on Thursday, assured them of the commitment of the Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to a smooth take-off.

Hon. Olukoju pledged her readiness to upscale the skills of members of the unit with regular capacity building towards ensuring accurate discharge of their mandate.

In his remarks, the Director, Information Services, Alhaji Jimoh Salau, commended the Commissioner’s initiative, describing the challenges of negative perception and misinformation in some quarters as alarming.

Responding, the Unit Head, Mallam Baba Mohammed, expressed appreciation for the opportunity given them to serve as a bridge between the government and the citizens, promising that the unit will discharge on its mandate effectively.
