LADE COMMENDS ACReSAL PROJECT INTERVENTIONS

The State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, has commended Kwara Agro-Climatic Resillence and Semi-Arid Landscapes (KWACReSAL) project for providing a brand new Hilux vehicle to the Ministry, as part of its interventions to ensure smooth monitoring of the waterworks across the State.

The Commissioner, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Christiana Omolola Asonibare, gave the commendation on Monday while receiving a Team of Consultants from the Federal Project Management Unit of ACReSAL, Abuja, in her office.

Hon. Lade appreciated the Team for the visit to the State, to ascertain that all operational interventions are distributed accordingly, stressing that the intervention given to the Ministry has helped to ease its operations.

Also speaking at the meeting, the Director, Personnel, Finance and Supply, Mrs. Maryam Ishola and the Director, Water Engineering Services, Engr. Yusuf Wopa, both appreciated the Team and appealed for sensitization campaigns on the dangers associated with bush burning and deforestation in the State.

They urged the Team to assist the Ministry in establishing standard laboratories to ensure better service delivery.

In his remark, the Team Lead of the Consultants from the Federal Project Management Unit of ACReSAL, Abuja, Mr. Paul Andrew Gwaza, appluaded the Ministry for its cooperation. 

According to him, “ACReSAL, which is a World Bank assisted project that seeks to increase the adoption of sustainable landscapes management practices in Nigeria,  paid working visits to the states to ensure that their partners utilise the interventions of the project judiciously.”

Mr. Gwaza encouraged the Ministry to continue to utilise the interventions wisely so that the unit can further recommend the State for more opportunities at the federal level.
