KWSG Commends COED Oro on Capacity Building

The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Arinde at the convocation ceremony of College of Education, Oro, Kwara State.



The Kwara State Government has commended the management of the College of Education (COED), Oro for their efficiency in human capacity building at the institution, which has helped in the educational development of the nation.

The Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, gave the commendation at the grand convocation ceremony for the graduating students. The convocation ceremony, themed: "A nation in transition: The Role of Education for Sustainability", was held at the College.

The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Ronke Arinde, appreciated and celebrated the achievements of the school in equipping the necessary values and skills to potential teachers in the society.

Governor AbdulRazaq urged all the graduating students to display decency and diligence in impacting quality education to humanity, commending the management and staff of the college for their tireless efforts and dedication to upholding excellence.

"Education remains the cornerstone of sustainable development and the key to unlocking the potentials of our youths. Your commitment to training competent educators and professionals has not gone unnoticed and it is heart warming to witness the fruits of your labour on a day like this", he said.

In her opening remarks, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. (Mrs) Mary Arinde, appreciated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his transformative impact on education and for being a beacon of hope and progress in Kwara State.

Also speaking, the Provost of the College, Professor Aremu Ayanda, thanked the Governor for the unweary support of the State Government, which has really assisted the institution in achieving excellent performance.

He, thereafter, presented the graduating students to the Governor for the presentation of the Nigeria Certificates in Education (NCE).

Dignitaries at the convocation ceremony were the Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), Kwara Chapter, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tertiary Education, Barrister Sabitiyu Grillo, Royal Fathers, amongst others.
