Kwara Govt Charges Heads of Tertiary Institutions on Research, Proactiveness

The Kwara State Government has urged heads of tertiary institutions in the State to be involved in useful research, proactive administration and committed to discharging their duties to uplift tertiary education in the State.

The Commissioner for Tertiary Education Dr. (Mrs) Mary Arinde made the call today during a meeting with heads of tertiary institutions in the State at the Ministry's Conference Hall, Ilorin.

Dr. Arinde said the State Government has high expectations from them, urging them to intensify their productivity, considering the high level of Government investment in all the State owned institutions.

She, however, said the State Government has also put the necessary machinery in place to evaluate their development,  checkmate their actions and inactions to meet the desired goals of the Government.

She promised to address all the challenges encountered by the tertiary institutions and urged them to prioritize useful research and bring up new ideas needed for the development of the State. 

She, thereafter, introduced the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University of Education, Professor Salman Medinat to the gathering and appreciated the efforts of the tertiary institutions in strengthening higher education in the State.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Head of tertiary institutions who is also the Provost of the Kwara State College of Education, Oro, Prof. Mukaila Aremu, thanked the State Government for investing in various health interventions and urged the State Government not to relent in its support for tertiary institutions.

In her vote of thanks, the  Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Barr. Sabitiyu Grillo, appreciated the heads of the tertiary institutions for upholding the standard of tertiary institutions in Kwara.

Kwara TESCOM releases CBT results, to announce cutoffs ahead of interview, screenings

Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) said applicants for the public school teaching jobs can now check the results of the CBT done earlier on Saturday.  TESCOM Chairman Mallam Bello Taoheed said all the applicants who sat the test can access their results on the portal. "This is the first step after the exams. The Commission will soon release the cutoffs that would determine the candidates who proceed to the interview stage, among other things," he said. "At the end of the CBT, a total of 8,529 sat and completed the exam across the centres. The breakdowns are as follows: COED Ilorin, 2,891; Ilorin West LGA, 1,991; UNILORIN, 1,677; Lafiagi, 812; Offa, 586; Oko, 297; Patigi, 275. A total of 9,459 applicants had been invited for the CBT across the seven centres. The remaining applicants did not show up for the exercise. Breaking: TESCOM adjusts job interview schedule

Kwara TESCOM Opens Application Portal for Teaching Jobs

•Urges applicants to adhere to rules spelt out in initial statement •Portal opens Wednesday, 5th February - Friday, 14th February, 2025 The Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has released the application link for its teaching job openings. Interested and qualified individuals can apply through: https://tescom.kwarastate.gov.ng .
