MAINTENANCE: AGBA DAM WATERWORKS TO GO ON SKELETAL OPERATION

Following the maintenance activities set to be carried out on Agba Dam Water Works, by Kwara State Water Corporation (KWWC), Ilorin, with a view to improving the supply of potable water to members of the public, the corporation will temporarily embark on skeletal services of the dam forthwith.

The General Manager of the Corporation, Mr. Gana Makun, stated this at the Agba-Dam Water Treatment Plant, during an inspection tour of the facility, to assess the ongoing repairs.

Makun stressed that the reconstruction of the high lift pump base and the high-lift pump panels which got burnt as a result of electrical sparks, has become necessary, for the facility to pump water effectively.

He noted that, "the maintenance exercise, which commenced since Friday, 10th January 2025, is expected to last for about two (2) weeks, after which it will be fully operational, hopefully by early February, due to the nature and sensitivity of the work being carried out, especially, the high-lift pump base—situated above underground water compartment.

I therefore appeal to the affected members of the public within Ilorin Metropolis, to  please bear with us following  inconveniences these repairs might cause, as the maintenance exercise is mandatory." He added.

Residents with complaints should reach out to the Corporation through the following contacts: 07021449777 and 07000059928 or alternatively visit the Corporation Headquarters at No. 1 Sulu Gambari Road, Ilorin.
