The Kwara State Government has partnered with electrical artisans in order to enhance professionalism and registration compliance.

The Commissioner for Energy, Engr. AbdulAzeez Kola AbdulGaniy, stated this yesterday while meeting with electricians, manufacturers, electrical technicians and sellers of electrical products, at the Ministry’s conference room.

According to him, “The Kwara State Artisans Registration Law, enacted in 2010, mandates registration for informal sector workers to ensure effective service delivery and eradicate quackery."

Engr. AbdulGaniy stressed that registration with the Ministry of Energy is crucial for standardizing goods and services, ultimately ensuring the safety of Kwarans.

The Director, Personnel, Finance, and Supply, Alhaji Hassan Taiye Afodun, pointed out that the Artisan Registration Monitoring Team will conduct regular inspections to prevent substandard production and illegal operations.

The State Chairman of the Kwara State Licensed Contractors Association (LECAN), Alhaji Yusuf Ahmed, pledged the Association's immediate compliance with the registration requirements and commitment to adhering to government standard.

Other attendees include representatives from the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service, Kwara Igbo Traders Association Electrical Merchandise Unit and Omoya Concrete Poles Nig. Ltd, among others.
