Govt Reiterates Commitment to Quality Healthcare
Kwara State Government has again reiterated its commitment to providing adequate, affordable and high-quality healthcare services to residents of the state.
The Chief Medical Director (CMD), Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH), Dr. Bola Ahmed AbdulKadir stated this today, during a courtesy visit by the National President of Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), Professor Muhammad Aminu Muhammad, and his team.
The CMD highlighted the transformative efforts of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration, in prioritizing healthcare services delivery.
"The present administration has provided adequate, quality and affordable healthcare services to Kwarans a top priority. Government has also created an enabling environment, for medical and other health professionals to thrive."
Dr. Ahmed noted that the upgrade of Kwara State General Hospital to the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital represents a significant milestone, in advancing medical education and healthcare services, not just in Kwara State, but Nigeria at large.
He also revealed that; "the state government has embarked on comprehensive renovations of primary and secondary healthcare facilities across the entire 16 local government areas of the state, equipping them with state-of-the-art medical equipment, to ensure they serve the public effectively and efficiently."
In addition, "this administration has prioritized the welfare of medical and healthcare workers by organizing capacity building programs and training sessions for Doctors, Nurses, Laboratory Technicians, pharmacists and other Healthcare Professionals, with the aim of enhancing their skills and improve service delivery."
He thereafter expressed gratitude to the National President of MDCAN for the visit and reaffirmed KWASUTH’s commitment to partnering with the association, to promote efficient medical education and healthcare services delivery in the state.
In his earlier remarks, the National President, Medical & Dental Consultants' Association of Nigeria, Professor Muhammad Aminu Muhammad commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s significant achievements in healthcare delivery, despite the administration’s engagement in other landmark projects across the state.
According to him, "The governor’s❌🤨 dedication to quality and affordable healthcare, alongside other visible and impactful projects across the state, demonstrates his visionary leadership and commitments to delivering the dividends of democracy to the electorates."
He then advocated for improved welfare packages for Healthcare Workers, to enhance their performances, while he reiterated MDCAN’s readiness "to collaborate with government to achieve the shared goal of quality and affordable healthcare services for the people of Kwara State."
