Commissioner Charges Stakeholders to Intensify Efforts at Ending Tuberculosis

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, has charged Tuberculosis, Buruli Ulcer and Leprosy Supervisors (TBLS) and other relevant stakeholders to intensify efforts at ending tuberculosis at the grassroots, to ensure the healthy living of people at rural communities and Kwara State at large.

 The Commissioner gave this charge during the week, at the Quarterly Review Meeting of Kwara State Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Buruli Ulcer Control Programme across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state, held at the Ministry Headquarters, Fate, Ilorin, the state capital.

In her address, Dr. El-Imam charged participants to redouble their efforts in the fight against tuberculosis and related diseases, emphasizing that the state government is fully committed to achieving the goal of ending tuberculosis in Kwara State, calling on stakeholders to work collectively to achieve the set goals.
 

“The goal is to end TB in Kwara State and environs. This no doubt requires collective responsibility. All hands must be on deck, to achieve this task. I therefore urge you all to remain committed and proactive in the discharge of your duties.” She stated.

Earlier in hi remarks, the Director of Public Health, Dr. Oluwatosin Fakayode, reiterated the Commissioner’s position, thereby encouraging the TBL Supervisors to fulfill their responsibilities effectively. 

“There is no excuse for underperformance. The health and wellbeing of our people depends on the success of this programme,” Dr. Fakayode warned.

The State TBL Coordinator, Dr. Fatimah Lawal Lah, expressed her appreciation to the  Commissioner and the State Health Team for their unwavering support for the programme, empharsising  on significant roles of collaboration and dedication in achieving the objectives of the control programme.

Kwara to employ 1,800 new senior class teachers

 • Applicants to Report at Their Local Government Areas on September 5 The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) wishes to inform the general public that all applicants for its community-based recruitment exercise are required to report to their respective Local Government Areas on Thursday, September 5th, 2024, by 9:00 AM prompt.
