Commissioner charges EHO to be more Proactive.

The State Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge  has charged Environmental Health Officers to be more proactive in service delivery to the state, even as Government has provided a suitable and conducive atmosphere for such, and must not be taken for granted.


The Commissioner stated this in Ilorin today, while monitoring the monthly environmental sanitation excercise.

   

The state Commissioner who was represented by Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Abubakar Ayinla said this months sanitation exercise is a special one, which allows for free vehicular movements within the state.


Despite that, Buge appealed to residents to clean their homes, business environment, while they enjoy the festivities without hindrances.


 Speaking earlier, one of the Task Force Officers, Mrs Olateju Mutiat commended the efforts of the Commissioner for making the job much more easier for them, through her leadership quality, which has helped in shaping the face of Taskforce and Ministry of Environment in the State.


 She therefore pledged their continuous support, dedication in the discharge of duties and be more proactive, if provided with necessary tools.


During the house to house inspection, Environmental Health Officers (Wole-wole) combed through Iponrin road, Sabo Oke area, Ilorin, on inspection of the previously Sealed house, with the aim of encouraging the house owners and tenants to clean their surroundings, to ensure a clean and healthier Environment.


On the Commissioners entourage at the house to house inspection was the Director Personnel Finance and Supply(DPFS), Mr Taiwo Okanlawon, Deputy Transport Officer, Mr Ahmed Mohammed, Procurement Officer, Mr Rahman Kazim and other staff of the ministry.
