KWSPHCDA Kicks Off November 2024 Polio Immunization Campaign

The Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KWSPHCDA), in collaboration with its partners, will commence the November round of the polio immunization campaign from Saturday, November 30th, to Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, across all 16 Local Government Areas of the state. This initiative aims to protect vulnerable children under 5 years of age from poliomyelitis.

The campaign follows the isolation of circulating variant poliovirus from both human and environmental sources in several states. The immunization exercise will be conducted as a house-to-house activity, with health workers also visiting markets, churches, mosques, schools, and social gathering places to administer two drops of the Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) to eligible children, regardless of their previous immunization status.

Polio paralysis is irreversible, but the polio vaccine prevents it. The vaccine is free, safe, and there is no risk of overdose.

KWASRRA COMMENCES LOCAL GOVERNMENT RESIDENTS REGISTRATION

The Kwara State Residents Registration Agency has commenced registration for the staff of Local Government Areas and farmers across the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State. The second phase of the registration exercise is focused on the registration of the members of Staff of the Local Government Areas (LGA), Local Government Education Authority ( LGEA), Teaching Service Commission ( TESCOM) and farmers across the State.
