FCSU Holds PLES, Consultative Meeting in Abuja

The Federal Cares Support Unit (FCSU) of the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) Programme is organising a National Peer Learning and Experience Sharing (PLES) event, and the National Consultative Meeting (NCM) in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The PLES and the NCM have both been scheduled to take place at Chida International Hotel, Utako, Abuja, from Monday 28 to Thursday 31 October, 2024, beginning at 9:00 am daily.

The 4-day event attracts participants from the 36 States of the Federation and representatives from the Federal Capital Territory.

The main objective of the National PLES event is to consolidate and make recommendations on key challenges identified by the stakeholders during the Zonal PLES events, while reports from this event are expected to be filled into the ongoing discussion on the NG-CARES Additional Financing (AF).

Similarly, the objective of the National Consultative Meeting is to seek the concurrence of States/FCT on the finalization of major elements of the design of the NG-CARES AF.

Deligates from the 36 States and the FCT have already taken their seats in preparation for the commencement of the programme.

NG-CARES, it would be recalled, is a World Bank and State Governments supported programme to alleviate poverty among the poor and vulnerable people in the society.

Kwara State has been in the forefront and a leading example since the inception of the programme in 2020.
