Speaker Commends Gov. AbdulRazaq for Sustaining Peace in the State

Representative of the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, Director, Legislative Matters, Mr Yaru Yakubu delivery the speech, while the state Commissioner for Communications, Hon Bolanle Olukoju, represented by Deputy Director of the Ministry, Mr Demola Olarewaju listened with wrapped attention, during the flag off of a 2-week training, organised by RATTAWU, Kwara Council, held at Labour House, Board room, Lanjorin Road, Ilorin, today Thursday 26/09/2024


 ...as RATTAWU Flags off Skill Acquisition Training for Youths

The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, has commended the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for maintaining and sustaining peace in the state, which has enhanced rapid development, and also made possible today's skill acquisition training. 

Engr Danladi made this commendation today, during the flag off ceremony of a two-week skill acquisition training, organised by the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU), held at the Nigeria Labour Congress Hall, Ilorin, the state capital

The Speaker who was represented by Director, Legislative Matters, Kwara State House of Assembly, Mr. Yaru Yakubu, gave kudos to the Governor's commitment at ensuring peaceful co existence and conducive environment for Kwarans and would-be investors.The training programme, aimed at empowering the youth and women would definitely be an added advantage to all participants.  

He thanked the organizer of the programme and promised to look into their request, to ensure the continuity of the training.

Also in her remarks, the State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bolanle Olukoju, who was represented by the state Deputy Director of Information Services, Mr Demola Olarewaju noted that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration's achievements in the last five years achievements has surpassed those of his Predecessors' over four decades,' since inception of Kwara State, in 1967.

"Looking round the state, the achievements of this administration in just five years has surpassed those of the previous administrations', since the creation of Kwara State, and this cuts across all sectors of life. For instance, the significant impacts in the Health, education, power and economy sectors, and the provision of modern infrastructural facilities, has greatly benefited the entire people of Kwara State", Olukoju said.

On the training, Olukoju intimated the gathering that, " Mallam AbdulRazaq has been tagged the 'He-for-She' Governor, because of his strong commitment to women's representation in all areas of his administration. He has not only provided equal opportunities for women in politics, but also introduced numerous programmes, aimed at empowering women and the less privileged to eke a living."

She commended RATTAWU for complementing government’s efforts at empowering Kwarans, especially the Youths, therefore charged participants to take full advantage of the training, to better their lives.

 "We can't all be engaged in white-collar jobs. If you acquire skills to empower yourselves, you will become an employer of labour, instead of waiting on employment. On your requests for support to sustain the exercise and make it an annual event, I will forward it to His Excellency, who has a soft spot for youth development " Olukoju added.


Also commenting, the General Manager, Kwara State Radio Broadcasting Corporation, Mr. Kayode Aremu, echoed the Commissioner’s stance on His Excellency’s achievements, describing the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the best thing that has happened to Kwara State.

"Evidences of this administrations' achievements is visible across the state, therefore, support Governor AbdulRazaq led administration." He added.

Aremu further commended the organizers of the event and charged participants to take a good advantage of the training to equip themselves with valuable skills.

In his address, RATTAWU Chairman, Comrade Usman Oke, noted that the focus on women for this program is in line with the saying, "Train a woman, and you train a nation," therefore urged participants to be committed, attentive and punctual throughout the training duration.

Earlier in her address, the training Coordinator and Chairperson of the RATTAWU Women’s Wing, Comrade (Mrs.) Sherifat Olatunji, described the training as a valuable opportunity for growth, emphasizing that participants' active involvement is key, in order to maximize the experience, adding that, they would be trained in various skills, such as information technology, bakery/confectionery, soap and cream making.
