KWSG Warns on Indiscriminate Dumping of Refuse

Kwara State Government has again warned residents of Ilorin metropolis to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse or face the full wrath of the law.

The state Commissioner for Environment, Mallam Shehu Ndanusa Usman sounded the warning, while enforcing the environmental law today, at Tanke area, of the metropolis.

According to him, "we are not out to intimidate anybody, but rather to caution you on the need to stop incessant dumping of refuse indiscriminately, most especially, on the road median, walkways, inside drainages among others, that can inhibit free movement of water at Tanke community and other areas within the state capital." 

The Commissioner lamented that despite several sensitization and advocacies, radio jingles, newspaper and other media platforms that the ministry engaged to create public awareness, on the need to comply with the environmental laws of the state, some incorrigible residents of the affected area are still flouting the law.
 
He therefore appealed to the residents to henceforth engage the services of commercial waste collectors, in disposing refuse and also stop using vehicles to convey high volume of refuse into the roro-bins, which is contrary to the environmental laws of the state. 

Mallam Ndanusa also implored people to cultivate a healthy living habits, both at home and working places reiterating the commitment of the present administration at making sure that our environment is clean, hygenic and healthy for residents of the state.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
