2024 Eid-l Kabir: KWARTMA Deploys 350 Personnel, Tasks Road Users to be Safety Conscious

The Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) has deployed 350 personnel as part of its traffic management strategies during the 2024 Eid-L-Kabir Celebration, to ensure a hitch-free movement of vehicles, people and goods within the State.

The Ag. Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Engr. Bamidele Michael,
in a press statement made in his office today 11th June, 2024.

 According to Engr. Bamidele, Eight (8) Patrol vehicles, Two (2) Tow-trucks and Fourteen (14) Motorcycles have been deployed for this Special Operations.

In addition to this, Eighty (80) Personnel are on regular patrol while One Hundred and Seventy (170) Personnel will be manning various choke points within Ilorin and Offa metropolis.He stated further that Fifty (50) personnel were deployed to various highways to forestall any form of traffic crash/accident and to act in case of emergencies and prompt rescue, while another Fifty (50) Personnel were on Surveillance for monitoring and compliance. 

Engr. Bamidele explained that Highways including Eyenkorin - Oko-Olowo Olooru - Bode-Saadu - Jebba; Ogbomoso - Otte -Airport - Geri-Alimi; Zango – Oke-Ose – Oke-Oyi; and Ganmo - Amoyo - Ajase-Ipo - Offa - Erin-Ile Highways are under surveillance to ensure the safety of people traveling to and from the State considering the high volume of traffic during the period of celebration. 
He also informed the general public that the early deployment was as a result of numerous emergency Ram selling-points that had sprang up within the metropolis and some highways, hence the need for proactiveness to forestal the traffic menace such actions might caused. 

"All machineries have been put in place to ensure free flow of traffic before, during and after the Sallah and Durbar celebrations. Motorists are therefore implored to obey traffic rules and regulations, avoid excessive speeding, overloading and driving under the influence of alcohol to have a hitch-free Sallah and Durbar celebrations"....
he said.

The Ag.CEO however sougth for cooperations of other security agencies and road users for a hitch-free movement during the feast.

While urging all Transport Operators and travelers to avoid night travels, he pledged the Authority’s continuous dedication to social services especially safety of good people of the State while on roads, in line with Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq’s vision for a renewed Kwara.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024.
