HIGHLIGHTING GOVERNOR ABDULRAHMAN ABDULRAZAQ'S REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENTS/INITIATIVES/ACTIVITIES IN THE PAST YEAR: MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT

- Resuscitation of the Waste Management Intervention Scheme with the: 

- Procurement of two (2) Fork Lift for waste management

- Procurement of Two (2) additional tipper for waste management

-Acquisition of Thirty (30) new Roro Bins

- Overhauling of 3 Compactor Trucks

- Overhauling of 2 Dino Trucks

- Repair of 1 Tipper that has been grounded for years

- Refurbishment and deployment of (Roro bins) at strategic location within the State.

- Daily cleaning of waste generated within the metropolis to dump sites

- Clearing of age-long illegal Dump sites at Ilupeju Sango Area and Okelele Community, Ilorin.

- Completion of Flower Garden Project, Ilorin.

- Collaborated with the FG for the dredging and concrete embankment of Asa River in Ilorin metropolis.

- Desilting of some identified silted Drainage within Ilorin Metropolis.

- Keyed into the Agro-Climatic Resilience Semi-Arid Landscapes team (ACReSAL) Project for Effective service delivery

- Enforcement of sanitation rules, weekly market sanitation and monthly sanitation exercise.

- Resuscitation of the Environmental Mobile Court.

- Deployment of Local Government Waste Management System under the EcoClean initiative.

- Efficient management of the State’s dumpsite at Sokoto Aiyekale.

- Deployment of 45 Roro bins at strategic locations within the Metropolis.

- Coordinating the activities of all agencies and organizations connected with environmental and ecological matters in the State

- Supervising and ensure proper maintenance of the State’s parks, gardens and road medians

- Overseeing the regular trimming of trees and green covers along roads, streets, parks and gardens in the state. 

- Overseeing the maintenance and preservation of the State’s forests reserves, wildlife park, games reserves to enhance sustainability and stabilize the ecosystem

- Conducting public enlightenment campaigns and disseminating information on environmental and ecological matters

- Generating shrubs and seedlings for tree plantation and afforestation

- Harnessing the economic potentials of the forests and its products for the development of the state

- Overseeing the State Waste Management systems, process and the deployment of effective waste management apparatus across the state in line with the sanitation laws 

- Coordinating the overall outlook and ambience of the State 

- Initiating appropriate policy actions on Environmental Impact and implications of both Human and Institutional activities within the State

- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards.

- Managing vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and evaluated service quality

- Monitoring sources of toxic pollution in the State's (air, land and water) with a view to taking necessary action for mitigation

- Liaising with Ministries, Authorities, Statutory Bodies and Research Agencies on matters relating to environment

- Implementing applicable enactments and standards of activities related to the environment in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Environment and other relevant bodies.

- Procured five 18 seater boats with life jackets distributed to communities in Patigi, Lafiagi and Kwara State Fire Service.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Kwara State Government launched the Kwapreneur program as a strategic effort to empower industrious and innovative young entrepreneurs across the state. Established in December 2019, KWASSIP is committed to combating extreme poverty and enhancing financial inclusion among underserved populations in Kwara State. Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes. It added that registration for the placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) is free, and it closes on Thursday 18th July,2024.
