KWSG HANDS OVER NEWLY RENOVATED RUWASSA BUILDINGS TO GM
The Kwara State Government has handed over the newly renovated phase 1 buildings of the State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), to the General Manager, Mr. Oluwafemi Oladipo Adewumi in Ilorin.
Performing the handing over ceremony on behalf of the state government, the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade urged the staff to make use of the edifice for optimal performance of their duties.
The Commissioner disclosed that the1 renovation of the buildings was last carried out in the past 20 years, thereby making it inhabitable for use.
"The completion of the phase 1 renovated buildings of this edifice is a demonstration of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's resolve for the welfare of the workers wherever they might be in the state", the Commissioner said.
Hon. Lade expressed satisfaction with the quality of job done by the contractor and thanked him for delivering the job within the stipulated time frame.
Earlier, the representative of IAEVIN Engineering Limited who handled the project, Engr. Musa Surajudeen handed over the keys of the buildings to the Commissioner after taking him round the facilities and thanked the state government for giving him the opportunity to serve the state.
Responding, the General Manager of RUWASSA, Mr. Oluwafemi Oladipo Adewumi expressed gratitude to the state government for making the environment more conducive for the staff.
He, however, appealed to the state government to continue to assist the agency with the renovation of the remaining buildings.
It would be recalled that the State Government recently awarded contracts for the renovation of the edifice to IAEVIN Engineering Limited to make it habitable for staff of the agency.
In company of the Commissioner was the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Christiana Omolola Asonibare; Director, Personnel, Finance and Supply, Alh. Abdulganiyu Shuaib; Director, Water Engineering Services, Engr. Yusuf Wopa; and Mr. Banji Wale, Chief Administrative Officer.
