The Kwara State Government has been commended for the prompt payment of land compensations to land customary owners and farmers in the State, following the acquisition of their land.

The representative of the Ajia Opele Family of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Bamidele gave this commendation while presenting a Holy Qur'an to the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Geographic Information Service, ESV Abdulkareem Babatunde Suleiman in appreciation of the compensation paid to the family.

Alhaji Ibrahim Bamidele expressed their profound gratitude to the State Government for the timely payment of compensation on the acquired land at Idi-Emi in Asa Local Government Area of the State.

"We are very grateful to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who is also the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, for this gesture, and this shows that the State Government is more alive to its responsibilities in touching the lives of Kwarans meaningfully," Alhaji Ibrahim said.

He therefore, solicited for the prompt fulfillment of infrastructural development particularly in the community and in the State in general, praying God Almighty to continue to guide and guard the State Government in administering the affairs of the State to greater heights.

In his response, KW-GIS Chairman, ESV Abdulkareem Babatunde Suleiman appreciated the Ajia Opele Family, and promised to discharge his duty with honesty and sincerity of purpose.

He said, any land acquired by the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's led administration is for public interest and for the overall development, especially for the host communities.

He therefore, appealed to the good people of the State to support the administration of His Excellency at all times, especially when their Land is acquired.

In company of the Chairman were the Director, Land Services, ESV Abdulwahab Abdulrahaman and other Staff members.
