KWSG COMMISSIONS MULTI MILLION NAIRA PROJECTS IN OYUN LG

The Kwara State Government has commissioned the Multi- million naira projects embarked upon and completed by the Oyun Local Government Council, under the leadership of Dr. Abdulwaheed Ibrahim-led Management team.

The multi-million naira projects were embarked upon by the Council in order to give comfort and a sigh of relief to indigenes of the local government. 

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony of the projects, the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar Bata described the projects as landmark achievements, which can be attested to by the large turn out of the benefiting communities.

The Commissioner, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Iyabo Modupe Adekeye described the choices of the projects as true reflections of the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the area.

Hon. Bata, who could not hide his joy over the executed projects, attributed it to the financial autonomy enjoyed by the Councils in the administration of their resources and most importantly, the free hand enjoyed in the choices of projects based on the requests of the respective communities within their domains.

The Commissioner expressed appreciation to the Management of the Council for its synergy in the execution of the monumental projects.

Among the projects commissioned were the construction of Two Classrooms at St. Matthew Primary School, Erin-Ile, construction of Cottage Hospital at Irra, construction of a Block of Two Classrooms at Inaja-Alaro, and construction of a Block of Two Classrooms at Ojoku, among others.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Oyun Local Government Council, Dr. Abdulwaheed Ibrahim thanked Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON) for allowing the Chairmen to take full charge of their respective Councils, with respect to financial autonomy in the administration of the Councils.


Dr. Ibrahim disclosed that since inception of their administration, all projects executed were done in consonance with the requests of the benefiting communities.

He, however, appealed to other communities with pending requests for intervention to exercise patience as they would also be attended to as more funds were available.

In the same vein, the team also paid a visit to Offa Local Government Council for the inspection of some ongoing projects in the area.

The Commissioner commended the TIC Chairman for identifying with the people over the choices of the projects across the communities.

He implored the contractors handling various projects to hasten up as most of them were on the verge of being completed.

“I am aware in the course of our discussions, there are lots of requests from your people in terms of intervention projects. I want to assure you that under the leadership of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, negligence that was exhibited under the previous administrations is already a thing of the past, which can be attested to by all the Councils in the State. They are no longer known for paying salaries alone, but now repositioned better to embark on projects having direct bearings on the wellbeing of the citizenry”, Bata said.

He thanked the Chairman and his Management team for being the true representatives of their people, most especially ensuring that the long denied indigenes now enjoy the dividends of democracy.

Earlier, the Chairman of Offa Local Government, Hon. Olajare Olatundun, who described the governor as God-sent to rescue the state, thanked him for the opportunity accorded him and his management team to contribute their quotas to the development of the Council.

The Chairman disclosed further that all the projects executed by the Council were mainly requested by the communities.

One of the beneficiaries, an Islamic scholar, Sheikh Munirudeen Bello commended Governor AbdulRazaq for being a listening Governor, who has the love of the people at heart.

Sheikh Bello expressed appreciation on behalf of the community for the procurement and installation of a 500KVA transformer, pointing out that it will enhance the rapid socio-economic development of the area. 

Other projects visited include the ongoing construction of a new Primary Heath Care Center at Olorunkuse community, and the completed motorized borehole at Enji Alaada community, among others.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024.
