KWCSDA-NG CARES GIVES CHEQUES TO RURAL COMMUNITIES

In its bid to expedite socio-economic and infrastructural development in the nooks and crannies of the State, the Kwara State Community and Social Development Agency-NG-CARES (KWCSDA-NG CARES) has given cheques to rural communities that lack socio-economic and infrastructural amenities.

The event occurred at the conference room of the Agency recently, where the beneficiary communities: Tuga, Sabo-Geri, Gurumo and Oke-Iyaipo in Baruten, Kiama, Ilorin-East and Irepodun Local Government, received the cheques.

While addressing the beneficiary communities, the Commissioner for Planning and Economic Development, Hon. Lafia Aliyu Sabi, charged the beneficiary communities to ensure that they make judicious use of the funds for adequate implementation of durable and quality projects that would benefit the people in the communities.

Hon. Lafia said that the community intervention is part of the magnanimous gesture of the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to ensure development across the State, especially, at the rural communities.

He said further that social intervention projects cut across water, health and infrastructural projects, which will ease the stress of the communities and boost the economic development of the rural communities.

Also Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Umar Yakub Jaja, stated that communities are expected to take ownership of the projects in terms of efficiency and maintenance so as to ensure that the communities fully enjoy the intervention projects.

Earlier, the General Manager, Kwara State Community and Social Development Agency-NG CARES, Engr. Amamat Haruna, appreciated the State Governor for his exemplary leadership and for approving the funds for the community-based project interventions in the rural communities. 

She noted that several communities have benefitted from the scheme while more communities will also have the impact of the Government, adding that the intervention is a form of partnership between the beneficiary community and the State Government, to promote sense of ownership and proper maintenance of the projects by the community.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiary communities, the Vice-Chancellor of Al-hikmah University, Professor Noah Yusuf, appreciated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the kind gesture and for approving funds for community-based projects, especially, in the rural communities.

He assured that the funds will be well utilized as well as reassured that the purpose for the projects will come to fruition while proper maintenance will also be ensured for long term usage. 

The Commissioner for Youth Development, Hajia Nafisat Buge was also present at the event.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
