KWSG TO PROMOTE GIRL-CHILD EDUCATION THROUGH AGILE - Kawu

The Kwara State Government has concluded arrangements to promote girl-child education through Adolescence Girls Initiatives (AGILE), revealing that the programme would commence by the first quarter of year 2024.

The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Saadatu Madibbo Kawu disclosed this while featuring on a Kwara Television programme tagged: "Network Kwara". 

The Commissioner noted that the State goverment had paid its counterpart fund, adding that the planned programme is aimed at strengthening girl-child education, while the beneficiaries of the programme would enjoy feeding and stipends at the end of the month.

Hajia Kawu, who spoke about the KwaraLearn programme, said the introduction of the programme had transformed the State education system from analog to digital.

She maintained that the programme has improved the learning activities in all schools across the State with the  numerous positive results derived from it.

According to her, "the KwaraLearn programme has begun to yield positive results because Kwara State students can now compete with their counterparts globally and the programme has doubled the pupils' enrollment across the State."

On the issue of creating conducive environment for teaching and learning, the Commissioner noted that the State government has embarked on massive construction and renovation of schools across the State.

In her words, "We as a supervisory Ministry ensure that projects are awarded to certified Contractors. We also ensure that the Contractors adhere strictly to specifications."

Hajia Kawu further explained that the present administration had prioritized training and retraining of teachers, explaining that the government partnered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in the training of teachers for efficiency.

On the monitoring of schools across the State, the Commissioner disclosed that the Ministry had initiated Quality Assurance Zonal Offices across the three senatorial districts in the State to monitor the activities of teachers in order to ensure full implementation of government's policies on education.

"There is no doubt in saying that government's huge investment in revamping education has begun to yield positive results because Kwara students came first at the Presidential Debate and they will represent the nation globally", Hajia Kawu said.

The Commissioner applauded the Education Secretaries across the 16 Local Government Areas of the State for making this achievable, revealing that an education summit organised in Uyo, Delta State recently, stressed the need for all States of the Federation to have similar education development.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
